Abi is passionate about developing innovative techniques to tackle real-world problems. He identifies commercialisation potential in research projects and guides researchers to create more significant impact. His expertise is in STEM and deep tech.
Abi completed a Doctorate in Physics from the University of Auckland, where he worked on combining optical systems and machine learning to solve many industrial and real-life problems. He completed a Master’s in Physics from University College Dublin (Ireland) and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Delhi (India).
Abi is a member of the momentum committee, a national IP and technology programme which operates as a sister programme to Return on Science and part of the commercialisation Partner Network in New Zealand.
