Mitali Purohit is a General Partner at Nuance Connected Capital; a deep-tech venture capital fund focused on science-led companies solving global challenges. She is a Board Member of AUT Ventures and sits as an observer on several portfolio company boards, including Hectre, Wellumio, and NanoLayr.
She is the former Head of the Technology Incubator Programme at Callaghan Innovation, where she led the government’s $150 million investment into early-stage deep-tech incubation. She was also instrumental in establishing and championing the ArcAngels Fund at Icehouse Ventures, which focuses on investing in women-led startups.
Mitali has held governance and advisory roles across a range of New Zealand technology startups and investment initiatives. She is a strong advocate for diversity in entrepreneurship and investment and has been recognised for her contribution to fostering female participation in venture capital and governance.
Earlier in her career she was part of the team behind the internationally recognised Stroke Riskometer app, which was named a Top Medical App in 2014. She has also contributed to research in stroke prevention and health technology, with several peer-reviewed publications.
Purohit is a graduate of the University of Auckland and has received recognition in the NZ Innovators Awards for her work bridging research and commercialisation. She brings a combination of venture investment expertise, innovation strategy, and a deep commitment to impactful, science-based entrepreneurship to her governance roles.
