RespirAq™

Simple, effective medial humidification

The Challenge

Patients on artificial ventilation need that process to include humidification to prevent airway damage, but the humidification process requires expensive and bulky water supply, tubing, and sensors.

The Solution

The RespirAqTM active heated humidifier is an elegant and compact solution to medical humidification. The process uses a chemically activated “smart fabric” to humidify the air breathed by patients on ventilators and other types of respiratory support. Humidification is a routine standard of care, but existing medical humidifiers require water supply and have problems with condensation forming in the air supply tubes. RepsirAqTM provides the same level of humidification as humidifiers provided by well-known companies, but without the need to regularly refill water chambers and without creating condensation.

RespirAqTM is the first fundamentally new medical airway technology in decades and makes a real difference to patients requiring respiratory support and the people looking after them.

The Investment

RespirAqTM was successfully spun-out of AUT Ventures in 2022 receiving initial investment of $1.5M from Outset Ventures, Icehouse Ventures, and Cure Kids Ventures. If you’re interested in supporting the RespirAqTM team as they continue their start-up journey, please contact RespirAq directly
