AUT Sport Tech Launched in the US

We're excited to celebrate a significant commercialisation milestone for AUT research.

At this year's Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaching association (CSCCa) Convention in the US, the premier event for collegiate and professional strength coaches, Swift Performance officially released the much-anticipated DynaSled.

Launching new Sport Tech with AUT Ventures

DynaSled is a world-first in sports performance hardware. Instead of athletes needing to be tested in a high-tech sports science lab, the DynaSled builds that lab-quality measurement technology directly into a mobile training sled. This allows coaches to accurately measure the exact force and power an athlete generates right out on the turf or court, in real motion.

The real game-changer is its ability to measure the power of the left and right legs independently, in real time. By revealing strength imbalances while an athlete is sprinting or pushing under load, the DynaSled is setting a new standard for injury rehabilitation (return-to-play testing) and elite strength training.

Taking a complex hardware and software solution to the global market requires incredible vision and collaboration. Congratulations to Mark Fisher, CEO at Swift Performance, and the brilliant minds who originally developed the technology: AUT sports and exercise science researchers Associate Professor Matt Brughelli and Senior Lecturer Matthew Cross, alongside High-Performance Sport New Zealand PhD graduate Dr Farhan Tinwala.

Supported by AUT Ventures and early-stage KiwiNet, this project is a excellent example of how industry-academia partnerships in New Zealand can successfully transition world-leading research from the lab to commercialisation.

How can we help?

We turn university research and expertise into real-world impact.
