Celebrating cross-disciplinary innovation at AUT!
As the first recipients of our Tīmatanga | Initiate Grant, two AUT academics are leading an AUT Oral Health collaboration with the RAU Textiles Research Centre in the School of Art and Design — bringing together health science and textile innovation to explore new possibilities in oral health care.
The project is led by Karen Lansdown, Head of Oral Health, who oversees the undergraduate programme and strategic direction in Health Sciences, and Dr Jyoti Kalyanji, a research fellow whose work explores the cultural and technological potential of textile fabrication.
We’re proud to acknowledge One Dental as the project’s external collaborator — a key part of what made this initiative possible through the AUT Innovation Fund. It’s exciting to see projects like this take shape, and we look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks!
